The Turboflotor 1.000 multi is the most versatile of our skimmers. It can be used as hang on, fixed outside of the aquarium frame as well as inside or outside of a filter sump in the cabinet. In the hang on mode, only the venturi pump is placed in the aquarium itself. It consists of a venturi pump with needle wheel, the skimmer itself with a conical foam cup with lid and 2 outflow boxes for directing the outlet back to the aquarium. Aqua Medic Wooden Air Stones are produced from fine pores lime wood. They have a low-pressure resistance and create very even and fine bubbles. To keep the capacity of the skimmer, the bubbles have to be controlled regularly, and we recommend changing the air stones after 6-8 weeks. Special slim size for the mini-flotor skimmer, also fits Berlin air-powered skimmers.

The skimmers of the series 5000 have been developed for bigger aquariums. Like the smaller models, they are supplied with venturi pumps that include a needle wheel for mixing air and water. The reaction pipe has a diameter of 200 mm (8 inches). The foam cup is conical shaped, to improve the foam production. The design of inlet and outlet ensure a long retention time of the bubbles in the skimmer. From the successful Turboflotor 5.000 series we have developed powerful these protein skimmers for cabinet installation. They close the gap between the Turboflotor 1.000 multi - for aquariums up to 500 Liter (150 gal) and the Turboflotor 5.000 baby for aquariums from 1.000 - 2.000 Liter (250 - 500 gal). Like the larger models, they are supplied with a venturi pump and our patented needle wheel. The pump takes the water from the skimmer and mixes it with air in the pump housing. The needle wheel ensures perfect mixing and very fine air bubbles. The water supply to the skimmer requires a second pump with a capacity of minimum 2.000 l/h (500 gph). The skimmer may also be directly connected to the overflow of the aquarium. Particularly on use of high performance circulation pumps a bypass is recommended, so that the inlet quantity can be adjusted. The Miniflotor is a small but powerful air driven inside protein skimmer. Its characteristics are the two concentric reaction tubes. In the inner tube, the air bubbles rise and take a lot of water with them. This water falls down in the outer tube and takes lots of air bubble with it - down to the expansion cone. Here the bubbles turn and rise up again - through the counter current. This ensures a long reaction time of the bubbles in the water and an effective skimming.
