External filters provide the ultimate in aquarium filtration. They are ideal for filtering larger or heavily stocked aquariums, and offer improved performance over traditional filter systems. TetraTec EX external filters are designed to be very easy to use and maintain, making them ideal for anyone wanting to improve the quality of their aquarium water.TetraTec EX filters come with a filter-start button to make filling and starting the unit easy. In addition they have automatic cut-off valves which shut off the flow from the pipes whenever the unit is dismantled. This prevents any water running out onto the floor. The TetraTec EX filters come complete with media and pipework. TetraTec EX filters are pressurised cannisters containing a variety of different filter media, including BioBalls for removing ammonia, Ceramic Rings and Foams for removing larger particles, and Carbon and Filter Floss for polishing the water. The presence of more filter volume coupled with different media leads to better performance over traditional undergravel or sponge filters.
