The Sulphur Reactor is a Bio-reactor filled with sulphur beads which promote the growth of the specialised bacteria that remove nitrate. As a by product of the biochemical reaction that takes place in the Sulphur Reactor, sulphuric acid is produced and in consequence the Sulphur Reactor should always be used in combination with a Hydrocarbonate Reactor in which the sulphuric acid is neutralised. Both reactors are supplied with a strong holding system

Aquamedic Hydrocarbonate Reactor
As a by product of the biochemical reaction that takes place in the Sulphur Reactor, sulphuric acid is produced. The Hydrocarbonate Reactor neutralises this acid preventing it from lowering the pH in the aquarium.
