Used as directed, Reef Builder will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder and Reef Buffer may be used together. Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH (formulated at pH 8.2). Polygluconate complexation confers several benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the calcium, it provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth, and it inhibits calcium precipitation/alkalinity depletion. One side benefit includes enhancement of denitrification. Polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system. It is formulated to provide a safe source of iodide that will not convert to toxic free iodine under storage or reef conditions. Reef Kalkwasser is a pure calcium hydroxide with unsurpassed purity and solubility characteristics. This calcium hydroxide meets or exceeds the purity of competing brands designated for reef use. Calcium hydroxide is used to prepare limewater (kalkwasser) solutions that are used in an automated dosing system that replaces evaporated water. Kalkwasser solutions maintain calcium directly and carbonate alkalinity indirectly. However, its capacity to perform these functions is dependent on evaporation rate and CO2 concentration. If the these two factors are insufficient you can provide additional calcium with Reef Advantage Calcium, Reef Complete, or Reef Calcium, and carbonate alkalinity with Reef Builder or Reef Carbonate (do not mix these directly with a kalkwasser solution). Denitrate is a high porosity filtration product for the removal and control of nitrate in marine and freshwater aquaria by anaerobic denitrification. It is a porous inorganic solid about 4 mm in diameter. It can be used in a canister filter at slow flow rates or even on the tank bottom as a live substrate. It does not require a special denitrifying filter or special culture feedings. It is also helpful in controlling nitrite and ammonia. The surface area characteristics of de*nitrate are similar to Matrix, making de*nitrate an effective support for the biological filter. Each liter treats up to 100 gallons. Prime is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water. It should be the first choice conditioner when setting up a new tank, adding, or changing water. Prime removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Prime converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Prime also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat. Unlike competing products, Prime is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Prime will not over-activate skimmers.
